Rules of Play
Italian Week Ottawa

  1. The 50/50 raffle (the “50/50”) will take place electronically and have the following single draw:

    Tickets will be sold beginning at 12:01 pm EDT on Sunday, June 2, 2024;
    Ticket sales will end at 6:00 pm EDT on Sunday, June 16, 2024; and
    The 50/50 Grand Prize Draw shall take place at 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 7:00 pm EDT.
  2. The 50/50 is being conducted on behalf of Settimana Italiana – Italian Week Inc. (“Italian Week Ottawa”) a not-for-profit corporation incorporated under the laws of Ontario.
  3. All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older. All tickets will be sold using an electronic raffle system supplied by Raffle Nexus Canada Inc. (“Raffle Nexus”).
  4. All purchasers must be in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.
  5. Tickets are: $10 for 5 Tickets, $20 for 20 Tickets, $50 for 100 tickets, $100 for 350 tickets.
  6. Tickets will be available at online at italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com.
  7. Tickets will be sold using an electronic raffle solution supplied by Raffle Nexus and certified by the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
  8. Each ticket purchaser must supply Italian Week Ottawa with certain personal information (such as name, home address details, date of birth, payment card details and e-mail address). Certain information (e.g., name, home address details, date of birth, and e-mail address) may be shared with Raffle Nexus as required to process the request to purchase a raffle ticket. By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser consents to sharing such information with Raffle Nexus.
  9. After buying, patrons will receive a confirmation e-mailed with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
  10. The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.
  11. The amount of the 50/50 prize amount will be available to see at any time during the raffle period at italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com. Subject to technical capabilities, the 50/50 prize amount may also be published at italianweekottawa.ca. In the event of a discrepancy between the two websites, the prize displayed on the italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com shall be the official prize.
  12. The winning number will be announced on the italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com website and, subject to technical capabilities, italianweekottawa.ca. In the event of a discrepancy between the two websites, the number announced on the italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com shall be the official winning number.
  13. The winner will be contacted using the information provided at the point of purchase.
  14. The winner may claim their prize by email at: info@italianweekottawa.ca or by contacting Lydia DiFrancesco at 613-299-0601.
  15. The winner must provide his/her name, address, and phone number with picture identification for our report sheet. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.
  16. Upon successfully claiming the prize, the winner will be paid by cheque for the amount posted at italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com.
  17. The winning ticket holder has 6 months from the Grand Prize Draw (i.e., until December 16, 2024) in which to claim their prize.
  18. Any prizes which are not claimed must be secured or placed in safekeeping for a period of six (6) months from the date of the draw. if at the end of six (6) months the prize has still not been claimed, the prize or monies equivalent to the fair market value of the prize must be donated to a beneficiary approved by the licensing authority.
  19. Members of the Board of Directors of Italian Week Ottawa are not eligible to purchase tickets for the 50/50, nor are they eligible to win any prizes.
  20. The above set of rules will be posted online at italianweekottawa.rafflenexus.com
  21. Funds raised through games of chance licensed by Italian Week Ottawa may be used in a manner consistent with the Italian Week Ottawa charitable purpose after the payment of expenses directly incurred by the 50/50 (e.g., licensing fees, Raffle Nexus and payment processor fees).

Cause

Italian Week Ottawa is an annual arts and cultural festival that promotes Italian culture in the National Capital Region during June. Originally founded in 1975 through a partnership of the University of Ottawa Languages Department and St. Anthony of Padua Church, and incorporated in 1977, the festival is among the longest running arts and cultural festivals in Ottawa. Our mandate is to share Italian cultural experiences with Italians, non-Italians, and visitors in the Ottawa community. We showcase these experiences through art, music, films, fashion, gastronomy, literature, photography, artisans and crafts, religious, and leisure activities.
